My journey to Healthier Life

This year, 2019, I have decided to start my journey to better health. Well, Healthy living does not mean being super skinny or really ripped with muscles and defined abs. I believe being healthy means being whole, balanced and full of life. It involves having a wellness and self-care practice that is physically, emotionally and spiritually fulfilling.

However, as I have gotten older and wiser I realize that those things are just one piece of the puzzle.  There is so much more to a healthy lifestyle. I just counting days to be thirty. I remind my self every time, my attitude defines outlook going forward. I can choose to be stressed and anxious about a certain age, or i can choose to be grateful and open to another year of life on this earth. And yes, I choose number two, open my another life with a healthier life. I’ve learned there are many ways to practice self-care. I get to decide how best to prioritize my mind, body, and spirit.

I’ve always known that I worked so hard and fall sick many times. It’s time for me to treat my self. I went through a yo-yo cycle in the last three years, but it really started to dawn on me that I couldn’t be happy for other people in their lives because I wasn’t happy with my self.  Once I realized this, I knew I had to start my journey towards health and wellness and make a change. I’ve never looked back.

Changing our lifestyle is never easy, no matter how large or small the changes are. You’ve gotten comfortable doing things the way you are, so, even if you feel like you want or should change things, actually putting those plans into action can often take some hefty doses of motivation and a bit of discipline, as well.

First, I adapted to eat a healthy food. Healthy eating is not about strict dietary limitations, staying unrealistically thin, or depriving yourself of the foods you love. Rather, it’s about feeling great, having more energy, improving your health, and boosting your mood. I stop to eat gorengan for 2 months, and amazing… no acne anymore in my face since that.  I am still learning what are triggers and what aren’t, and like any human being, I cheat and slip up here and there, and definitely pay for it! There’s a lot of advice out there on how to eat healthy, and if we’re being honest, it can sometimes feel like too much to think about. Especially when i’m hungry!

Some of the things I do eat are lots of veggies, white meat such as chicken breast or steak, green vegetables, swapping white rice with whole wheat breads, increasing my water intake while decreasing my sugary drink intake. Of course each person’s triggers will vary from the others.

Second, as of these past couple months I have started doing gym classes. It is a place of progress and contemplation, a place to push yourself and hone your ability to focus, to grow, and to achieve self-improvement. And i have been pleasantly surprised at the amount of things I really can do! And a little discouraged by the ones that are hard (but I have just begun).

When I did begin , I started small but consistent 1 hour – 2 hours in the gym. I take some classes like yoga, body tone, body jam, body pump, RPM, and the most happiest things is I has many many new friends there. They have same spirit and same goal with me. People who want to be healthy and live happy longer.

Now, I love the gym, and consider the choice to make it a habitual part of my life to be one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made. The self-control, discipline, and work ethic I have cultivated within its walls has carried over to every other aspect of my life and has, without a doubt, led me to become a more confident, self-assured, and more complete individual.

How’s the result? I feels more happy, and i can do a better task in the office. Surprisingly, i got the bonus, loss fat 4 kg! Alhamdulillah.

I am hoping to keep you updated on my story as I continue on this journey and share what my struggles and successes are when it comes to working out. I have found that the more I stay active the less pain I have. I am hoping that others in my situation can grow from this road block of pain and learn to live and decrease the suffering that is this horrid condition.
